WRP 6”-10” FP wide range proportioner

Application

The WRP is suitable for use in fixed foam system with variable flow rates, such as in sprinkler systems or multiple deluge systems. The “FP” version includes a balance valve for use in foam pump proportioning systems.

Recommended Foam

All types of foam concentrates with induction rates of 1%, 3% or 6% can be used. Each unit is specifically calibrated to the required proportioning ratio. If using a traditional high-visc ARC (alcohol resistant) type foam concentrate a special calibration is required and must be specified when ordering.

Function

As the foam system is activated by water flow, the foam pump should start to operate. It is crucial that the foam concentrate pressure is minimum 1 bar higher than the water pressure to guarantee correct function. The balance valve reduces the foam pressure before entering the pre-calibrated orifice in the mixing chamber. On top of the balance valve is a check valve situated, to prevent water flowing into the foam concentrate line and storage tank.

Installation

The WRP unit can be installed horizontally or vertically between ANSI or DIN type flanges. The recommended minimum pipe lengths are 5 times the diameter before and 3 times after the unit. Foam inlet is BSPP thread type is connected to the foam pump. The operating temperature should be above 0°C. Once installed and tested, the WRP unit does not require any scheduled maintenance.

Key Data

The WRP for foam pump system offers proportioning over a 1:100 wide water flow ratio starting from 70 lpm up to maximum 20,000 lpm depending on version. All types of foam concentrates can be used at any required pre-calibrated proportioning ratio. The unique foam mixing chamber and orifice design combined with the balance valve guarantee accurate foam proportioning throughout the complete flow range.
