Alpha B -30 NE foam premix

Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE (also called Fomtec AB -30 NE) is a ready to use (premixed) film forming foam solution for fires of class A and B. Fomtec AB -30 NE utilises the unique film forming effect to cut off oxygen supply to the fire and the oleophobic properties of the foam enables a stable foam blanket to suppress reignition of the fire.

Unlike regular AFFF premixes, Fomtec AB -30 NE has excellent storage stability in excess of 10 years under correct storage conditions. The product has superior fire performance on class A fires compared with regular AFFF premix solutions. Fomtec AB -30 NE is freeze protected to -30oC and can be used in extinguishers or systems that will be stored or installed in cold areas.


Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE is intended for use on class B hydro-carbon fuel fires such as oil, diesel, gasoline and aviation fuels. Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE is effective against class A fires such as wood, paper, textiles etc. It can be used with both aspirating and non-aspirating discharge devices. It is compatible with all dry chemical powders.

Fire performance & Foaming

Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE has been designed to give the best properties of:

  • Aqueous film forming foam
  • Class A fire extinguishing agent

The fire performance of this product has been measured and documented according to “International Approvals” and “Technical data” stated in this document. The foaming properties are depending on equipment used and other variables such as water and ambient temperatures. Average expansion 6:1, average 25% drainage time 19:00 minutes using UNI 86 test nozzle.

Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE is formulated using raw materials specially selected for their fire performance and their environ- mental profile. All raw materials are registered in European REACH-database. Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE is non-toxic, bio-degradable and each individual component is fully tested and documented. Fomtec only use C6 Pure fluorosurfactants in our Alpha formulations. Our film forming products contains no PFOS or PFOA in accordance with US EPA Stewardship Program 2010/15 and EU Directive 2017/1000. More details can be found in the Material Safety Datasheet (MSDS). Storage/Shelf life

Stored in original unbroken packaging the product will have a long shelf life. Shelf life in excess of 10 years will be found in temperate climates. As with all foams, shelf life will be depen-dent on storage temperatures and conditions. Fomtec Alpha B -30 NE_IBC


The foam premix solution should be tested annually. The testing should be made by an approved laboratory certified to assess firefighting foam quality according to relevant standards, such as NFPA 11, EN 13565-2, EN 1568 or IMO MSC.1Circ. 1312. Storage containers should be inspected and reevaluated for the suitability of the storage location regarding temperature fluctuations (temperature should be as stable as possible). Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided.


We supply this product in 25 litre and 5 US gallon cans, 200 litre and 55 US gallon drums, 1000 litre and 265 US gallon IBC containers. Larger bulk supply is available on special request.
